In Via Larga, in the centre of Milan, Bonaldo, a leading high-end furniture brand, has opened its first Flagship Store. Occupying more than 500 square metres across three levels, the space marks a new presence for the brand in the city, with Mo.1950 managing the showroom and its customer experience.
The architectural project is by Massimo Castagna, who has overseen the recovery and reinterpretation of the existing spaces. Structural interventions have created fluid, open interiors in which the Living, Dining and Night collections define the rhythm of the store. Rather than simply occupying the rooms, the furniture contributes to their spatial organisation, generating sequences and changing perspectives as visitors move through the different levels.
Light and material are central to Castagna’s architectural language. Backlit walls meet burnished-metal staircases, while volumes, surfaces and details establish a measured dialogue throughout the space. The result is an environment in which architecture provides a framework for the collections, while the collections themselves contribute to defining the interiors.
From Via Larga, the store also enters into a distinctly Milanese visual context. Its windows reflect the Torre Velasca, bringing one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks into the changing perspective of the showroom.
